Now I know this is a hot topic with my Parish Councils on my beat, Bit today i was annoyed!

The other day I was sat at my PC looking out of the window, I glance up to see a woman with a dog cross the road towards my front garden, but being busy take no more notice...

Today I want to cut the grass to find a big pile of dog mess!

I have seen this woman and her dog before, If I see it happen again I will take a bag out to her so she clears it up then report her for "Anti social behaviour" Bad enough fouling the foot paths but private gardens! :twisted:

Anyone who lets their do foul the paths are inconsiderate gits...

Oooh my all time favourite pet hate !  :x
People who dont clean up after their dogs should be shot - legislation should be put in place that it is an offence to walk a dog without carrying suitable means to clean up after it
A few on the spot fines for not carrying a plastic bag would soon sort them out
I once caught a dog messing in my front garden with the owner looking the other way till it was finished - I grabbed a shovel, loaded it up with his mess and chased him down the road shouting as loud as I could "Excuse me, I think you have forgotten something !" - boy was his face red as I made him put it in the bag I brought for him too !
His only other option was to discuss the matter at the front desk of the police station 3 doors down from my house ! - It is an offence up here to let your dog foul up here (on the spot fine ) - is it not the same down there ?

I was paramotoring out of a field in Hampshire, having left my kit bag with my stuff in it, and as I'm walking back across the field I watch a couple's dog wander over to it, pee on it, and trot off again.  They acted totally oblivious to the actions of their dog.  If I hadn't had a motor on my back I'd have run over and had a go at them.

I could issue a fine, however it only works if the foul a foot path not private land...
However I will request their name and address politly if I catch them if not I would consider pulling my warrent card if they refused... Never normally would i do that when off duty, but the dog fouling issue bugs me. There is a local foot path that runs to our village school and it is just covered in dog poo... I once pushed a push chair up there, it picked up lots of dog poo! don't these people think about others...Rant rant rant

As a dog owner, I do try to do my best to tidy up after my pooch. The worst bit is when you feel in yr pocket, theres a bag ther so off you go, then the dog decides to poop twice on your walk....Now carry a pocketfull of bags.

My only gripe is that when Im in woodland, or somewhere open like derbyshire or similar, I let the dog run free, sometimes she takes a pee, sometimes she poops, but there are some folk who expect that every one should be cleared away. I clear up if its a pavement, I clear up if its a field where kids play etc, but I draw the line in open woodland etc.

 To be honest, I try to avoid footpaths etc and take the dog in the fields or woods, cos even if you clear it away, its never completely clean and I always think if kids fall over where its been, they are still gonna pick up germs etc.

i agre with all the above,

my dog is actully pretty snobby, she never poo-poos(!) in the garden or paths, she waits till she is in a field or the forest adn runs 15 - 20 ft in adn turns around and does her studd, she is really timid!!!

it grips my proverbial when people dont tidy up, another on the spot fine could be for kids and their rubbish......

i wont start on the kids thread!!!!

appart from their dogs would the owners like it if a nice big steamer was left on their front lawn/drive by someone elses great dane etc.........i bet not.


not all owners are bad in this area just the majority :lol: , bit like muppets on green lanes who give us all a reputation.........

:evil: I agree, dog poo is disgusting, I always clear up after my dog, I tie a bag to her lead.  She also does that thing in the woods, and when I try to find it I can't.  I think some people get some sort of weird kick out of letting their dogs drop a massive pile near a school or on somebody's lovely lawn.  The craziest thing I have seen out on walks is bagged up poo, bagged up but left where it is and not binned!

One of my old foremen did this but waited till the chap went into his house, knocked the door and when it opened flung the contents of the shovel up the hall way saying "I believe this belongs to you"  :lol:

I do agree with your statements I get stray dogs jumping my front fence & leave one in the garden. There is a copa who lives across the road from my 88 year old Grandad, he stands there & lets his dog walk across the road & lay 1 on the front lawn of my grandads. I look after the gardens for my Grandad as he is house bound these days & it gets up my nose.
I have 3 dogs & clean up after when I can by that I mean they often go into the thickest & tornest bushes, I can't get in nor could a child !

I love other peoples dogs wouldn't have my own, deal with enough crap at work.

Could have been worse I was picking up stones for my rockery the other day and when Lifting up the boulder realised someone had Crapped under it and left the evidence hidden under the boulder.

Don't get me started on cats...

Dog owners are one thing but at least they take the dogs out... most of the cats round here are left to roam day and night... leaving calling cards wherever... course.. always in the same place...

Tempted to get one of those human traps... capture the opffenders and take them down the RSPCA telling them they were stray.

Think laterally on this one! The Littering laws will cover the 'depositing of substances from  public places to a private place'.
I had some bloke who used to regularly let his dog dump on my front lawn, so I collected it all up, (a few days worth) waited for him, watched his dog do it again, then confronted him and handed it all back with the words " I believe these are yours. Please don't let your dog do that again, or I will be round to return the favour. I have horses."
I never saw him again.

its my understanding of the anti littering laws that you are only obliged to pick it up in urban and play areas and that the countryside/woodlands and even some country parks you don't Have too ? - read leaflet on it a couple of years ago
