Well in the package i got it says you can buy a licence from the Post Office for £15 a year.  So i went to the post office (the main one in keighley) ask for a CB licence form and she said "I'm sorry we havent done those in ages, i dont know who provides them now, why dont you ring the TV licening people!! "

So i'm confused now.

Try here

Can't find the exact place I printed off my application form, but I'm sure there'll be a link through this one somewhere...

Bit more information about it here and here

Confused? I am... I think you still need one, but you can on;y get one through the post.

Thanks

Ben

Crikey.  The Post Office haven't been involved with CB and amateur licenses for ages now.

These are the people you need:

Call sign shouldn't matter - not many people use them any more. You should get one allocated when you apply...

If you've had a licence previously, then they use the call sign to tie up your application to the previous licence...

Everyone gets a unique one...

Cheers

They are FM now.

If you are buying new, make sure you get one with both the UK and EU frequencies on them.   (40 of each)

Have a look at the other CB threads further down the forum, there are some links to the usual companies who will be happy to advise on the best model for you.
