A bit of bodywork....
« on: May 31, 2007, 01:00:56 »
Talking to the manager of the local ATS the other day, he said he'd had a bump in his Avensis.  It was in at a local repairers for repair (as soon as he said who I had to smile).  New rear panel and bumper.  No damage to the qtrs or boot floor.  How long did I think it should be in for?

I told him that we'd turn it round in 3  days.  His eyes bulged, I swear.  This other lot have had it 6 WEEKS!  When he'd rung them a couple of days before, the manager had said ' well it is a big job'

The mind boggles.  We replaced a qtr, rear panel, door, wing, both bumpers and the entire rear suspension (not to mention the air curtain and other bits and pieces) on a CLK a couple of weeks ago.  Started Monday, delivered back Friday.  And it was far from being the only one we did that week.

And there's only 3 1/2 of us in the workshop (the half being the youngster  thats been there a month.

He wasn't impressed - think he might be making one or two phone calls...

You should see if you can get a set of BFGs off him on discount, to return the favour - they were advertising Buy 4 Get One Free the other day which is quite a decent saving.
