Where is the fuel filter on a jimny?
« on: June 02, 2007, 14:29:17 »
My Jimny has a rather annoying habit of cutting out at motorway speeds  :( ... so this weekend i decided to make use of the good weather and try and sort it out by servicing it. the air filter and oil filter/change all went to plan but i dont seem to be able to find where the fuel filter is on the jimny   ... any help would be great as would any other ideas on why it might have the cutting out problem.
cheers in advance

Damo  :D

It probably ain't your fuel filter. Jimnys, especially early ones had a problem with the ECU and crank position sensor. At highish constant speeds the ecu would 'turn the engin off!' and it would only recover as the driver lifted off the peddle and then re-applied presure. The problem was discused on anothe Aussie forum, don't know if it is still running. Mine used to do it but since all the modding it ain't happened for a while. As far as I know Suzuki UK won't admit a problem but on cars still in warranty they will re-set or replace the parts at fault.
