Range Rover Body Panels
« on: June 04, 2007, 10:15:19 »
Hi guys,
I finished putting big holes in the Range Rover and need new panels to close the holes again.
Paddock and Craddock can deliver the usual stuff as sills and footwells, but seems like no one can deliver a rear floor and the rear inner wheelarches.

Does anyone here has a source for these panels and parts or does anyone break a Rangie and has these parts in an ok-ish state?

cheers

will try Martin Motors,
Rimmers is bloody expensive.
I think they buy at Paddock and sell it with a 100% mark up ;-)

Or their parts are made from gold......  :?

Yes they are unearthly dear, but when they say it's in the post, it's in the post, they never let me down.

slight change of plan.
The Rangie Body is beyond repair.
Will try my skills on building something like a Tomcat but from scratch ;-)

Started...?
Big word

I started to remove the interior, the wiring but also to keep the engine running, sorted the minimal wiring for the EFI to keep.
Next step will be finally remove the last bodywork bits like Bulkhead and the seat bases.
Than shotblast the chassis and rustprime, paint it.
Than I have to refurb the rear axle.
This will be finished by mid August, time enough to think about whick suspension road I will take.
When that is sorted I will start with the framework.
Front Main Hoop like a Tomcat'ish vehicle. Will use the Defender Windscreen and Rubber. Rear Hoop will differ from the Tomcat Hoop.
Yesterday I was actually thinking of getting the main roll cage pre manufactured with FIA certificate from either Tomcat or someplace else.
Send of a few mails to get quotes for special design roll cages.

We'll see.
