new driver insurance on a series

my stepson will be taking lessons early next year, and i think he will be joining the fold 8) .

anyone had any quotes for a new driver on a cheap series landy..

im 20, got a quote for £300 per annum as first person, fully comp. that was with liverpool victoria about a year and a half ago.

With an inner city postcode, but living in the countryside I managed to get onto NFU.  I had to go under my father's name with the policy, and have the full no claims (his car was also added to the policy).  Ã‚£230 fully comp with unlimited mileage.

Unfortunately all the other insurance companies wanted £2,000+ (17 years of age).  The few places that did good cheap deals would not insure my 2A as it was over twenty years old (something to watch out for!).

When I was 17 my dad added me to his series 1.  "That'll be over 100% loading for a lerner" my dad was told, sure enough the cost for insurance went from £68 to £172 pa for limited milage fully comp agreed value classic insurance. Might have been peter best but I'm not sure.

Now I have my own polocy on my own vehicle but I was 20 when I sorted that out for £410 limited milage, fully comp, agreed value, classic.  I'm now 22 and its now £350 and unlimited miles.  All with Footman James.  NFU won't touch me as I'm too young, they only deal with under 25's if their perents are with NFU aparently.

You'll probubly only get any sence out of a handful of specalist insurers.  Do it on the phone!

I got insurance with NFU, as second driver to my dad when I was 22.

I hate to say it, but it's getting increasingly difficult to get insurance as a youngen. From the age of 17 I was constantly told I had to be a year older to be insured, until I got to about 20, when I finally got insured for about £700.  That was with co-op, but now they don't deal with old land rovers and/or young people.

I went with the NFU they are amazing, im 17 on my dads with an 02 plate td5 insured for 10k with me mom and dad on fully comp was £490

try lancaster insurance services i have had a policy with them since i was 19 it was £290 a year for 1979 s3 lwb safari 2.5petrol station wagon

Mine was £600 per yr when i was 19 through sureterm.That was thrid party fire and theft.....
