Chassis paint
« on: June 04, 2007, 21:41:52 »
I have a 110 chassis that's being fully sand blasted back to bar metal.

What is the best way to paint it? Do I need to use primer then a top coat or can I just use hamerite?
Once rebuilt it will be wax oiled

Cheers.

blast the inside of chassis with waxoil

on the outside, etch prime it, then spray it with a gloss black enamel paint
it'll last for year and years, wil gleam, and most of all, when the mud hits it, itll wash back off with a garden hose and will be like it was before, unlike wax oil the mud sticks and dullens the black so it then looks rusty

I agree with dan, except my preference is semi-gloss enamel for the chassis!!
