:(
well been off roading today again, soon as i got back onto tarmac i realised something was very wrong. the Disco is suddenly vearing to the right sharply like theres a heavy weight inside thats shifting from side to side, it seems to start at the front and a mate driving in front said he could see it pulling to the right from the front end causing the whole car to have a rolling effect like a wave passing through it, its much worse at low speed and also when changing gear. at higher speeds at about 45-50 in a straight line its hardly noticable but still there a bit.
with Difflock on its reduced by about 50% but still there, without difflock its deadly.
did take a good pounding today on an extreme course..
nothing obvious is loose or hanging off that i can see, props seem firm etc, no play in the wheels or streering wheel and dont seem to be toeing in or out etc.
thoughts please..
cheers

Bent steering component, maybe rear arm if you havent already seen it.

Have you checked your bushes / nuts and bolts on the radius and trailing arms?

Sounds pretty serious to me.
Are all the radius arms still straight etc, worst case could be a bent chassis although pretty unlikley.
hope it don't cost too much.

Jack up each wheel and give it a good waggle around?

it does sound like a bearing, mine shot to the left on the motorway, when i stripped it the bearing was welded to the stub axle

It's not something as simple as a big lump of mud stuck to a wheel throwing it out of balance is it?

dout it chassis although it did cross my mind, but as difflock effects how bad it is, its much worse without it engaged.
ive meassured front to back wheels centre to centre and both sides seem to be the same within about 5 mm of each other
ive not had a major look yet but on a quick inspection under, theres nothing loose, trailing/radius arms are all heavy duty ones and dont seem bent or loose.
steering seems ok and dosent seem to have any excess play in it, wheels dont seem to have any play although ive not jacked them up yet.
didnt think of a bearing, could be that as ive herd some bad stories of them when they go wrong, we did notice a small bit of grinding just before we got home..
tomorow ill get the wheels of the ground and spin them etc and see if anything shows up. was wondering if its axle winde

might be worth checking the bracket on the front axle where the panhard rod attaches as Dave had his break off and it was all over the road.
just a thought and good luck

Sorted it
was a split rear trailing arm bush, now replaced it with a poly one.
