Being plain old cheeky works!
« on: June 11, 2007, 15:22:19 »
I got an email today saying the payment hadn't gone through for my Disco insurance. As I have got a new card since last year the expiry and issue number are different Doh

I gave them a call to pay it and the ENGLISH chap said are there any other questions before we proccess the payment and I cheekly said "lowering the price would be nice as it has gone up since last year and I have now turned 25." He told me it has actualy come down £5 whole pounds from last year and asked me to hand on. He came back and has dropped another £20 off the premium and I told him I am thinking about doing a veg oil convertion and do I have to let them know? He replied with preferably yes but he has made a note not to increase the premium if I do the convertion and also to not charge any admin fees.  ;D

Admin fees are £15. so an extra saving of £35 for just being plain old cheeky!!! Bring it on!   :D  :D  :D

He also asked what is involved in doing a veg oil convertion. was nice to speak to a happy chappy who was interested in talking and not move on asap. We even joked about saying it has a snorkel as a mod and I can go under water unlike most cars! I told him that 3ft was the max depth I have done so far and he laughed!!!

Never hurts to ask

I bought a second old banger for daughter to learn on in a few months. Insurance quoted me £145, the girl asked if I wanted to add a second driver so I said yes.

Because the second driver was my wife a female it came down to £125.

Wifes the only one to have had accidents.

my first few years insurance I put a female as a named driver and it brought the policy down by ALOT! Now it seems to make no difference. Very jealous your daughter was quoted £145. Ive now just paid £324 TPFT for the disco and thats with me being 25, done pass pluss ages ago, and they have taken into account I have 7years no claims on my other car. barmy!

my first years car insurance (with doing pass pluss) was £2200 TPFT

Hi mate

It's not my daughter yet. When I bought the car a wee Nissan Micra I put it under my name for 6 months then when she's 17  in Oct it won't cost the earth to put her on as a named driver.

It was an insurance chap who advised me to do it that way rather than wait till she's 17 buy a car and try to insure it.

My ZZR1100 is only £130 fully comp though.

Cheers H

I called my insurance up and asked how much it would cost for full no claims protection cover.

£8s per year extra so now no claims protected still hope I don't need to use it though.
