Spent most of the evening pulling cars (six including a Discovery) from the local flash flooding here in Leamington after three hours of torrential rain. Best one was a guy in a Fiesta with a brand new plasma telly in the back- "get me towed outa here quick. I'm not bothered about the car but the water's nearly reached the flippin telly!"

My uncles ground floor on his house is ruined- and all his prize koi carp are gone.....

Wow I didnt realise how bad the rain had been. My commiserations to everyone there in Leamington ( a real Spa now eh ? )

The forecast here in south yorks is for torrential rain over the next 18 hrs or so ... thank God I live on a hill

absolutely hammered it down on wednesday afternoon, and again a couple of times today, and its just started again!

well am in a hotel about half a mile from Landroverkeith and it was raining so bad that the safest speed on the motorway was about 35mph cos you couldnt see in front of the car.

The roads into work were a bit caotic this morning - there's one or tow car that don't wanna be movin' - but I hadn't realised quite how bad it'd been elsewhere in the county.  :shock:

Not as bad here, but flooded arounf Meadowhall shopping centre.
An astra and a Focus sitting in water over the top of their tyres blocking the road, what were they thinking? I stuck it in low box to go thru, it must have been 18 inches deep for 75 yards, makes you wonder what goes thru peoples minds as they plow their 56 plate focus into water you could forseably float a boat in................

what is it with merc drivers???

i found one in 4ft of water in a ford yesterday afternoon!!
along with some idiot who had abandoned his car in the middle of a road and a 38tonner came along and couldnt get past or reverse...he was well p'd off...

i was out water hunting til 3am this morning :twisted:

I bet it was a company car.
Nobody in their right mind would take their own motor into that.... unless it was an insurance scam.

Where abouts is that road ? I live at Chapeltown and it's been quite bad around here too

I was up at 'Sleepless Paradises' (aka; 'Mrs Johnty') house yesterday & Johnty was telling me about a flooded section that they went through in the 90.

Apparantly as they did & went past an abandoned Yaris, it started bobbing about,as though it was floating, as their bow-wave caught it :lol:  :lol:  :lol:

those floods look deep. I wish I had gone flod hunting now :-( I live near Daventry so should have been some floods around.

I went ford hunting at the weekend though with 2 mates around north west Derby, Mattlock, Belper area. I thought afterall the rain they were going to be fun. Nope. all were about 0.5ft deep. Only just got the wheels wet!

had flooding here a few years ago and i had a renault 25 just took the air filter off and drove through ok but the merc behind me killed it dead
forward planing always helps
when the lewes caffyns landrover dealer got flooded the put the new cars on the two post ramps but they floated away
sorry for those that have lost all there stuff and hope there insurance pays out quick :cry:

I drove this road (who says you don't need a 4X4 for the school run).
It was about 6 inches over the bonnet.
The orange van moved in the bow wave.
