Do i have an odd set of shafts????
« on: June 15, 2007, 23:45:48 »
Disco 1, 200tdi, seems to be 10 spline metric axles, the shafts seem quite hard to find......

the earlier ones have different size bolt holes..... anyone ever drilled them out???
gone from 200tdi.... to 300tdi... still with loads done to it, in fact, even more than the last truck...LOL!!!

Sorry to disagree, but mine are the 10 spline METRIC ones, any earlier than 92 and they don't fit mine!!

And they went 24 spline shortly after, so mine ha shafts from quite a small window of production.....

Could be 10 spine abs

Standard 10s wont fit them

I found out the hard way, when refurbing a pair of hubs up for replacement to find out mine had these, had to use the original ones

Well, mine doesn't have abs, and as it's got the 10 spline diff, i'm not sure you can get shafts and caps for it, can you??
I had a look on paddocks site, and they only seem to list shafts and caps in the 24 spline variety...????

They used shafts with seperate caps on defenders. They tend to stick out further which means the ceter cap on alloy wheels doesn't fit.

The axles started going metric in 1985 on the RRC (diff housings at least)
