MOT failed
« on: June 27, 2007, 14:16:53 »
Audi 80 I've put back together for a friend went for its MOT today and failed...

On a bloody Windscreen wiper grrrrrrr

Back for a replay tomorrow.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

went back today for free retest...

switched the fogs on and the famus Audi dash switches struck. Magic smoke escaped and the fogs went off, typically, while his assistant could still see them.

Back tomorrow with a new switch installed. Might do the relay mod I did on mine to stop the switched getting eaten.

Advisories on:

Rear wheel bearing, both sides have a tiny tiny bit of play, as he said, amost not worth mentioning but as I mentioned I'd put the car back together he thought I should know (never touched em)

Rear disks, both sides, pitted (well yes, its been stood about 3 years!)

Chip on the windscreen you need a magnifying glass to see, indeed had I not valeted it you wouldnt be able to see it.

One tyre right on the limit, so will put a spare wheel I have knocking about on.

Only thing of note I think is the bearings, at £15 a side those arent any big shackes.

Front brakes work damm well though, threw it off the rollers :)
