Err did you really say that in one breath?

I pottered around in the fords and did a bit of puddle jumping but there wasnt a lot about round here.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

I had some fun today on Slash Lane, Sileby, Leicestershire. (It crosses a flood plain.) :D

Thats a quality lane for driving floods - if it's rained , you can guarantee slash lane is flooded

We were really popular going home last night.  All roads out of sheffield gridlocked (still), ended up going all the way out to Renishaw, there's a massive flood across the road, and there are signs up saying the road is closed, so all the numpties in their euroboxes are lined up to go through it.  Well, we got to the front eventually, and waited for someone to leave us a gap to go through to the other side...and waited...and waited...  In the end I said to RRB - just go through - no-one's going to let you through, especially in a Range Rover, you'll just have to pass somewhere in the middle.  Well, RRB wasn't too keen on this, as we were in the LSE, rather than Blue that has the snorkel.  So after waiting a bit longer, he set off (he knows I'm always right, but sometimes has to have this proved to him).  Well, off we go, not dumping the clutch and burying the throttle like we normally do, but a quite a sedate pace.  Still created a massive bow wave, and the spray was still over the car (a very deep puddle!).  Lots of those crossing in their euroboxes were driving along with the window open, listening to the radio.  Needless to say they all got soaked by the spray!  Think they may think again now before trying to fight with a Rangie.  We were popular with one chap, though, who'd hydrolocked his engine, so we stopped him needing a new tranny engine as he was trying to start it!!
Will try and get some pictures to post, but as I was on my way home from work, didn't have by camera (or wellies) at the time.

If you're off to Renishaw for a holiday, best order the waders from tinternet and pack your wet weather gear.  Lifejackets optional!
