We also used to go to what used to be the Ferry Boat in Altofts,(don't know what it changed it's name to, been back in Middlesbrough too long lol) used to walk down from the nurses residences, calling in at the British Oak along the way..........
Aww bringing back memories..... yes I lived there and yes I trained at Pinderfields, but did the first 18months at Pontefract, Moved back to Middlesbrough in 2001.

It being at one time, as the name suggests, the ferry-boat house to reach Methley at the other side of the River Aire. For Rugby fans it might be a place to visit as the land-lord was (so I'm told) a Castleford, & Subsequently, an England player.There are displays of his memorabilia in the eating areas & bar.
