'Devils Bridge'
Kirkby Lonsdale
A well-known Burger, Buttie & Tea van in this part of the country. It is quite literally yards off the main A65 (West Yorkshire to Cumbria) trunk route.
On a weekend, you'll have to share with hordes of motor-cyclists, cyclists & walkers.
The A65 is a wonderful route, but very twisty & well known for many accidents with speeding bikers.
Multi-Map
Park to either side of the old bridge, but the main area is on the eastern side (marked by the blue 'P').
The burger van is to the right side of the bridge (photo taken from the A65 bridge)

'Bernies'
4 Main Street
Ingleton
01524 241082
A shop run by (& mainly for) Cavers. The floor is linoleum & the seats are either plastic or slatted wood. A wonderful collection of photos adorn the walls depicting underground scenes.
Like 'Devils Bridge', it is just off the main A65 route

Whilst in Ingleton, if you fancy something a bit more up market (and pricier) -
The Wheatsheaf
-also in Main Street, just slightly up the hill from Bernies. Excellent food, friendly, and very well kept beer. Well above your usual pub kitchen.
cheers

Rythre Arms
Main Street
Ryther
LS24 9EE
01757 268372
(located betweenTadcaster & Cawood on the B1223)
OS 105/553 394
Home of the 78ounce T-Bone Steak. As I understand it, if you eat it all you get another one free!
Normal sized steaks are just as tasty.
The eating areas are a bit on the small side, but if you can find a seat the food is good

And, yes, the pub name really is a differant spelling to the village where it is

Ripley Ice-Cream
Main Street
Ripley
Harrogate
HG3 3AX
01432 770044
(located 2miles north of Harrogate on the A61 to Ripon)
OS 99/285 665
A small, but very well patronised ice-cream shop. It's well known for the variety of flavours it offers on a 'daily specials' basis.
Turkish Delight
Apple & Orange
Toffee Apple
Banana Yoghurt
Peanut Butter
The Castle is well worth a visit as well, plus there are numerous local walks around the vicinity. The village was remodelled in the 1800's on a French layout.

Dalesman Cafe
54 High Street
Gargrave
Skipton
BD23 3LX
01756 749250
OS 103/932 542
A very busy little cafe situated in this small, but highly trafficced, village right on the A65 (the main West Yorkshire to Cumbria route)
After enjoying the food in the cafe, the village itself is a marvel with an infant River Aire (having risen a few miles away near Malham) gurgles past across a set of stepping stones.
To either side of the village are items of interest on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal;
to the west is a fairly deep & busy lock
to the east is an wonderful stone aquaduct carrying the canal over Eshton Beck.

Bettys Of Harrogate
54 Parliament Street
Harrogate
HG1 2QU
01423 502746
One of the last bastions of the traditional English tea-rooms. Waitress's still wear (or did) black uniforms & white aprons.
People-spotting is an interesting pastime here, from the old ladies reminiscing to the 'Ladies That Lunch'.
Quite expensive, even as simply a bakery, but it's a real survivor from the past
The tea they exclusively use (named quite simply; 'Yorkshire Tea') is also blended by the parent company, and a 'good cuppa' it is too (available in good supermarkets)

Another one just off the A65 that really deserves a mention is the
Game Cock Inn
in Austwick village. As well as excellent food, the atmosphere was great at the weekend, friendly landlord, locals who made space for us to get a table. Booking is advisable.

A great place for a meal is High Moor Farm, the caravan site, about 4 miles out of Harrogate on the A59 towards Skipton, been going there since we were kids with Mam and Dad, it's a family run site with pub serving great traditional meals with some variation. Great for kids has a fab swimming pool and a nice big child friendly park, they do allow visitors for the day but do ask that they pay a small fee. The pub isn't always open so to ring in advance would be advisable, but weekends is normally a dead cert........
I'd recommend the Gammon
James would recommend the Lamb Shank
and mam and dad always have scampi and a mixed grill lol

The Fisherman in Settle, N Yorks (on the main road opp the big carpark with the filling station next to it. Best fish and chips in the known universe (IMHO) or the Royal Spice also in Settle - great little curry house. No licence but you can nip out to the Co-op for the odd bottle or two.
Game Cock, Austwick - excellent

Squires
'New Inn'
Newthorpe Lane
Newthorpe
South Milford
LS25 5LX
It is on one of my regular ride-routes, as I call for a mug of tea (but I approach over Gorse Lane, from Steeton Hall Gatehouse, over the railway bridge, past the radio mast)
Squires Web-site
The cafe is situated is on the B1222, which leaves the A162 (the FerryBridge- Tadcaster turnpike road) at Sherburn crossroads.
It is between Sherburn & the 'old' (pre realignment) A1 at Ledsham (the green dual-carriageway on the postcode link)
Be aware!
From either side, the approach roads are narrow & twisty.
You may be passed at high-speed by bikers going to (or leaving) the cafe.
On weekends (& Wednesday evenings) the traffic levels increase, but so can the Police presence
