The first ones if you do a lot of road, the second ones (directional) jus like the Macho and damn good in the thick stuff but a bit rumbly on tarmac, the last set look similar to BFG muds which aren't as good as the macho in mud but far more civilised for a daily driver.  Just my opinion.

If you're not doing loads of miles then I'd think the directional pattern would be the best option, very open for the rough stuff but good solid tread blocks for rocky surfaces and plenty of shoulder grip.  Look cool as hell too.

OK

I have a question, well two actually, I recently bought some pro-comp X terrains which boasts a directional tread. Whats happens if you get in somewhere, it gets a bit hairy and you think forget this I'm going back, do you get any grip in reverse?

And the other which discocwk pointed out to me which side would you take as a spare?

I agree with the middle choice

Insa Turbo Sahara

In answer to the other question, I have used these equivalents a lot and never really had any trouble forward or reverse, you still get a good amount of grip

Although mine are the now defunct technic amazons, the tread is the same, only ever had one go on me in 3 years, and that was due to it going down slowly and me a bit late blowing it back up, finally it fell apart on the inside, although did not go down, just felt like the wheel was falling off

As for the noise level turn up the radio

The thing with directional treads is that they do still work well in reverse, just that the tread pattern makes for very good self-cleaning in the forewards direction, so reversing for long distances could see a build up of muck in the treads, but they won't stop working.

Yes, grip wise I'd say mine were better than my current BFG MT
