you do not have to back the boost off atall! the smoke is a result of all the crap in your engine being dislodged by the new power, it is normal.
he didnt touch the smoke screw or the diapghram (sp?!) just the full power screw on the back, as he thought that had not been touched as the seal was still there...
I havnt adjusted the fuel screw either. Just the diaphram, which Allisport recommends. I have also shortened the actuator arm on the turbo by about 6 turns.I get a very small puff of smoke when i bot it. But thats all. :)

if running a std intercooler, leave the boost as it is as its already running 1barjust turn the diaphram 90 degrees clockwise for more fuel for more go :lol: do a search as its come up many of times before on how to do it so im not going to repeat myself another time :lol: dan
