Insurance AGAIN!

Well this afternoon i took the plunge and phoned Direct Line to change the address on my puggys policy and well did i get a shock!
ive moved a max of 5 miles down the road and they wanted a wopping EXTRA 222! this is to my annual policy which monthly increased from 98 to 129! ERRM NO i think not so she had to put it through because i couldnt change the address back and so from roughly 5pm ive been phoning round insurance companies trying to get the policy back down.
Tried:
Norwich Union and they wanted the same as directline at 1400 something.
same with tesco and tesco value worked out bout 125/129 a month.
Seeing though already have a policy with Computer Quote phoned them up and lowest they could offer was 118 a month so bearing them in mind i continued my search.
Next on list is the AA they were very helpful infact, i couldnt get a quote online as it had timed out. they couldnt quote me less than direct line but they put me through to a company called connect i think. Again they were hugly helpful and found various companies for me putting me through and phoning me back each time but unfortunatly none could beat the direct line price. Some were infact more expensive wanting 200/300 in deposits and then 8 monthly payments of another 200 odd..
...my quest continues..
Confused.com found a fantastic one @ 1112.00 with a company called quotea.com phoned them up and they have resently lost the company that give massive discounts to under 25 drivers.... [!Expletive Deleted!]!
Last try of GoCompare.com found another good one with More Than at 1225 but due to there lifestyle survey they couldnt offer me monthly payments.
However they also had one with Kwik Fit.. 1129 Great i thought :D
Phoned they up about it because of the problems with my no claims discount. so to get the 1129 i needed to re phone direct line and see weather they would release my no claims discount as its based on the claim for rabbit in october.. YUP that claim still isnt sorted and the bloke STILL wont admit liability.
well phoned direct line and yes they will release the no claims :D YAY
just gotta write them a cover letter and send my certificate back off (which im writting at the mo).
so phoned kwik fit back up and with the online discounts were getting a different price on the phone so i said id do it online, now this is where the fun started.. tried paying for it and i couldnt because it would need 12 hours to process.. so went back and checked all the details couldnt see where i was going wrong but i now kept getting 110 a month as a posed to the 101 id origanily got. So i decided to start all over again and this time got an even cheaper quote.. :D so now gonna be paying 102 a month with the legal cover which the original quote didnt have.
Any way point of my rant was after 4 hours of being on the phone im suprised i havent lost my voice but could relay everything everyone needs to know in about 30 seconds now ive said it so many times! I just cant beleive a 5 mile difference can make such a MASSIVE difference, parently im now living in a high area.
has any one else had a similar problem when moving house?

I have recently changed my policy to The NFU (yep the farmers union).
Was with Dial Direct before but was absolutly mortified by the charges they kept tagging on + the fact that their renewal was not even competative.
1) Change of car= £50 admin charge
2) While disco was in for repair notifying them I was given a courtesy car for a whole 24 hours = £20 admin charge
3) cancelling a second vehicle policy = £50 admin charge (see a pattern forming?)
Anyway the NFU quoted £250 less than DD not the cheepest I found incidently but they had the best repayment terms

Adrian flux dont like cars unless they are modified or something special and even then, they Wouldnt touch the Audi as it was 'too standard' Also had issues witht hem in the past when I turned my R1 into scrap metal.

Got both policies with them now paying £1000 a year for both cars....mmm thats better! I have my Porsche insured with them on a 1500 mile cherished vehicle policy......£142.00 a year!!! Have to sell that soon though, our 10 month olds costs is catching me up
