Pro Comp failure - common???
« on: July 29, 2007, 21:29:35 »
I have pro comp ES9000 +2" shocks on the back of my disco with britpart yellow +2" springs, I was laning up Yorkshire today and noticed that my n/s anti roll bar link had flipped over, I didn,t have a jack to hand or a crow bar so left it as it was, when I got home, on closer inspection I was shocked to find the bottom of my shock absorber had completely snapped off just above the nuts which had also dislocated my spring from out of the retainer and the bottom seat!!  Is this common with pro comp shocks, they are only 4 months old, what are the chances of a direct free replacemnt do you think??

Cheers

Chris

They shoudl replace it, as long as they have the broken one!!

I broke two, the top loops were bursting.... i put mine down to using poly bushes, which were exerting too much internal pressure.....
gone from 200tdi.... to 300tdi... still with loads done to it, in fact, even more than the last truck...LOL!!!

Bust 2 on mine (both were replaced under warranty) and there are quite a few folks had similar problems!

Changed to Rough Countrys' now, as I don't want to be breaking another set!

regularly beat the hell outa mine, never failed yet. Cover em in dents and stuff and still never let me down. I do use two soft poly bushes in the mounting eyes the instead of the standard hard rubber one, lets em twist much more as the axle drops.
Go on....cut me in half........it says SUZUKI all the way thru the middle!!

longest procomp they do is 15" travel(guess what is currently on the zook :D )
Its got an eye on both ends, and is 3 and a bit feet long when fully extended.
They are available thro the usual procomp dealers, I think my mate at LRS can get procomp stuff now... :D

Same price as the shorter ones too!
