A few people notice that there is a whole raft of sports cars built at the end of the 70s to the end of the 80s that look alike, Including the VW Sirocco, Lotus Esprit, Delorean AMC etc.

What I didnt know was Karmann & Audi were in on the game too:

I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

Very interesting, I haven't seen that before, massive looks of an early Scirocco with the distinctive Audi coupe rear quarters!

Bizarre isnt it. I can certainly see the later Siroccos' rear end in it.

I alway thought the Sirocco decended from the Audi Coupe but looks like it might be the other way round. Same styling is there on the 100 Avant too.

Looks like it was made in someone's garage, in the dark.

True what you say though, even today Euroboxs look very similar.  Funny really given that they take 7 years or so to design.

Who remebers the SD1? supposedly a nod to the Ferrari 365GTB/4
Blue,  1988  Range Rover 3.5 EFi with plenty of toys bolted on
Chuggaboom, 1995 Range Rover Classic
1995 Range Rover Classic Vogue LSE with 5 big sticks of Blackpool rock under the bonnet.

I ocasionaly wonder where all the SD1's went. Seemd to just go away overnight. The Mantas were another one. Quite common as well and now you dont see em at all. I realise they are all old cars but I still see Rover P6's about, The odd Granada/Cortina, few Capris about, Senators and other cars from that era. Just only seen one Manta recently and I cant remeber when I last saw an SD1 other than that police one.
