does any one know how much it is roughly to have a head skimmed (it is a V6 essex by the way)?

It'd be best to take both off actually... being a v6 you wouldn't want different compression on one side to the other would you!!!
gone from 200tdi.... to 300tdi... still with loads done to it, in fact, even more than the last truck...LOL!!!

yeh yeh i will be taking them of my-sef, one of the gaskets are bubbling so i thought wile i have the head of may aswell get it skimmed, so you would advise taking both of them to be skimmed?

I paid £80 to have both heads off my v8 skimmed a few months ago. I took them off and stripped all the valves off myself, then reassembled them again myself afterwards..

i may aswell have them done then. while im hear save starting another thread how will i no i cn use this engine with unleaded fuel? is it expensive to change to unleaded and does it realy matter, cant i just run it unleaded any way? the engine was put in ten years ago and had an MOT up untill 2 years ago so chances are it probly does but just to be shure.

I pay £20 a head for the V8 as they take a bit of setting up.  Hoping it will be the same for the TDi as it looks like it's cooked after a rad failure.
