200tdi losing power
« on: December 24, 2004, 22:05:42 »
A mate of mine has a P-reg 200tdi (his first Land Rover). Every now and again it loses power, chuffs a big black cloud from exhaust and picks its feet up again. What's gonna be the likely cause, blocked injectors, timeing or just in need of a good service :?:

I'd start by giving it a good service.

Could be blocked fuel filters, a faulty pump, and a few other things.

Change the fluids & filters and if it's not been done before a dose of injector cleaner probably wouldn't go amiss.

Once you get that lot done, then see what you are dealing with.
