Apparantly there is a spectacular meteor shower from about now a clock till just before dawn ( Dunnno what time dawn usually gets in though :roll: )  Its a stunningly clear night here and as i have just finished work i shall be unwinding in the garden with a coffee and will report on what i see 8-[

  Also you should see mars without  a telescope ?? If i new whereabouts to look  :-k

apparently the things to be seen are grains of sand, plummeting towards earth at approximatley 130, 000mph!


...good luck!  :lol:

did see a few streaks earlier, going to empty the dog now and see if i can spot these fast grains of sand.....

... i did see mars, its in the fridge, top shelf.. half eaten  :roll:

Dawn normally gets in around 04.45 / 05.00...  I shall be watching but too many lights on in the yard  :cry:  don't think I'll see much..

well, as i have only seen 1 shoooting star/meteorite before tonight, i have just seen roughly 1-2 a minute  :shock:   Well impressed i would say,

 I know some people are lucky enough to see things like this quite often, But its not a every day/night sight for me, so worth another cuppa  out me garden i reckon

Haven't seen a thing, been out around the yard watching the sky, the only thing are the planes headed for Stansted  :(

definately VERY quick, it was more of a case of staring at the whole sky and waiting really, was toying with the idea of setting up my camera on open frame ect, but then realised i didnot have any film  #-o

saw about 3 one after the other around 1am, was quite surreal.... moving bloomin quick tho!!

We stood in the garden for 30 mins last night and saw 9 shooting stars!!
Mother nature is brilliant.  8)

I saw Mars last night was low in the northen sky and was quite obviosly red... didn't see the meteor shower though as I was knackered and retired to bed early :oops:

I started looking Friday night after the BBQ. We saw a few meteors but then we saw the International Space Station (ISS) docked onto the Space Shuttle Endeavor tracking in from the West. Amazing! The brightest satelight I have ever seen- not surprising really as it was two big objects side by side!

Don't wait too long to look though as Endeavour is now scheduled to undock from the International Space Station on Aug. 20 and land Aug. 22.

Saw the ISS on Saturday when down in Ramsgate, is around till the 26th August if anyine wants to see it, use this site to see when it will be in your area http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/cities/region.cgi?country=United_Kingdom&region=England

only visable for a few mins each time, but is good to see it
