As it is, not as it woz!
« on: August 14, 2007, 23:51:35 »
I know this question has probably been asked before, but I shall ask anyway!

After some advise relating to registering a vehicle ‘as its now’ and not ‘at it was’. For example; now petrol (not diesel), now blue (not green), now with Range Rover engine, axles, gear box & transfer box (not from original vehicle).  I phoned the DVLA, and they said just fill out section 7 on the registration document and send it off to them, no paperwork, photos, reports, or anything!

Is it really that easy?

yes, make the changes on your V5 and send it off to the DVLA, eventually you'll get a new log book back reflecting the changes made.

EVENTUALLY

Took 2 years to get mine changed from 2295CC to 2525CC

Thats 4 V5s/V5Cs later.[/u]
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

DVLA tend to be a lot more efficient than they used to be. It used to take 5-6 weeks to get a change of owner sorted. The new owner of the Merc we recently sold had his V5C through in just over a week.

When I changed the reg on the 110 a couple of years ago, the new docs were through in a similar time too.
