Auto dipping rear view mirror removal
« on: August 17, 2007, 16:48:34 »
Any idea how to remove the auto dipping rear view mirror on a 300TDi ?
I dont want to pry it off with a crowbar if it clips in place, a little too near the windscreen !

The range rover one has a mounting plate and it slides off but the disco one is different.

Bum, I was just about to tell you how to take the RRC one off.

I'd be pretty confident it will come off seperate tot he sticky pad, but if not you neeed the glass warm, then get some heavy thread and saw through the sticky pad to remove it.

Under no circumstances try to pry it off.

This advise applies to Metros too
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

So its bonded with a sticky pad, that figures.  I am replacing it with a range rover one that has built in lights.
