Out of interest, Sony are intending to release a twin-tuner digital PVR (record TV to hard disk) add-on for the PS3.  Might be worth waiting for, for anybody who's thinking of buying a console, particularly as you get a Blu-ray DVD player as well.  If I didn't already have a PVR I'd be somewhat tempted.

the price tag puts me off the ps3

the pvr thing is of use but ive got sky+ and in future sky HD, although the tv tuner is a nice to have, until you get hd freeview you wont get much to record, since the skyguard encryption wont let you feed into your ps3 directly the next best is composite/component into it but that wont be hd

although it IS the cheapest blu ray player on the market, it seems all the blu ray films are appearing on the sky hd film channels anyway since they are only beginning to record in hd.

in time and like has happened before, the ps3 will be slimlined like the ps2 did and bettered so i think i will wait.
