well, i have been looking at polo 1.4TDI twist today, and walked into the garage spoe to the guy bout the car and he ran me through it, used to be a lease car... i looked round the car, the alloys had been mashed badly (curbed on every single one) so heres me thinking ut oh, lease car been treated badly i best walk out now... but i thought give him a chance, and then he said full service history by VW so i asked to see it, and he showed me... now this car has done 37,000 miles... apparently it had a new clutch at 35,000 miles!!!!!!!   :? is this normal? surely not? my passat has done 140,000 miles on the original clutch? i thought to myself, if the clutch had gone after 35,000 miles whats the rest of the engine like  :? walked away and did not buy it. R
woohoo glad i made the right decsion(sp?) 8) thanks guys!R
Lordy I used to hate those things, but now I think the MkI Golf has come of age as a geniune classic car. My mate had a MkI clipper convertable in his showroom and we both thought it would sell really quick, 1 owner in black, low miles, factory bodykit, a real timewarp. It's in Ireland now, no-one wanted it :?
I think the increase in chavmobiles has lowered the tone so much that geniune enduring classics rise above the norm. I breifly considered a MkI GTI myself (I did say briefly).
