At the end of the day, there are only so many "scrapiron racing supplied this so it must be good"articles that can be run. Some of the tech stuff seems easy but how many folk have got the knowhow and kit to replace boot floors in discos, do an engine conversion etc etc. The tech articles make it look very easy - the sort of job that any numpty with half a brain and a spanner could do. How many vehicles end up being off the road for days as opposed to the "simple half days work"?

Rant over

With landy mags I buy them only if the have an article intreset in and am subscribed to TOR.

The one thing that bugs me with TOR is that at times they seem to total miss the point IMHO. The disco on G wagon axles was a perfect case in point, there wasn't any decent pictures of the main moddification and all the text had to say was one and a bit paragraphs on how he got a company to fit them and that the diffs were turned round after all the hype of G axles [-X .

Compare this to the LRe article on TAZ 90 with the portal axle conversion and there are loads of pics of the underside/axles and whole sections of text giving a blow by blow account of whats actually involved with fitting the axles =D> , even though they like the G axles were fitted by a seperate company.

I used to write a little bit for LRW, but gave up partly because they were somewhat disorganised, and partly because their politics were going all extremist.  Not really read it since.

LRM went through a good phase (particularly when they published stuff about / by me 8) ) but they sometimes seem to struggle to find a good variety of articles.

I currently take LRO every month and I've been quite enjoying it over the last year or so.  I like the fact that I don't finish it in 15 minutes.

TOR is just about the only one worth getting anymore.  all the landy ones have really gone down the pan. The amount of stuff they repeat is just crazy. And the amount of adds has gone beyond the joke...

Probably down to owner of said vehicle knowing one or two people who work(ed) at LRe...nice vehicle though, spent a week offroading with taz90 + its owner last summer.

Personally i get LRe on subscription (one of the offers i use saves me more than a years subscription...and i get 12 mags out of it for nothing)...and occasionally buy one of the other ones if i'm in a motorway services and bored...not sure why i do really as there's probably better things to spend three and a half quid on to alleviate boredom.
