i put new pads, and shoes on my 94 vitara sport and they were fine,

went offroading yesterday and know the pedal goes a longway down,

it still stops ok but just dont fill right, its done this be4 and all i done was ajust the hand break, also the drums at the back,

would it be ok to do this again or is there a real prob,it seems every time i spend a day off roading,it does this,

i have no leakes, splits in pipes and cable looks fine so whats going on.

thanks for your time guys :D

an eezi bleed is the easiest way......or a garage..

but you can do it with a mate, you need a piece of clear tube and a milk bottle.Make sure your fluid resevoir is full, wheel off, attach the clear tube to the brake nipple gently crack off the bleed nipple (this is the bit where it normally snaps off...probably best to WD40 it first) get your mate to give a couple of pushes on the brake pedal until you get a good air free flow of liquid from the tube into the milk bottle then tighten the nipple.keep filling resevoir with fresh fluid repeat all round....seem to remember its backs first then fronts on a vit.
Also depending how old the fluid is it could all need replacing. It get moisture in it.

well its DONE :D  :D

its very strange tho,

had an air lock on right hand side, but have not undone any screws or any thing, :?

and it was coverd in mud so cleared that out,but right hand side still did not work,(drivers side)

so got it on ramps ticking over in 3rd to get wheels spinning then hit the peddel, nothing

in the end it was the self ajusting spring and stop that was sticking out for some reason,so every time i braked the stop and spring would touch drum, and same time undo it self so no stopping power from that side at all,

all i done was changed the spring and its fine   :x

but one thing bothers me,why would it do that, its not been touched as far as i can see just moving out to rub the drum which is a long way to go,

any ideas chaps :?:  :?:  :?:
