engine problem

started my range today  1st time in 5 weeks and it started right up 1st turn but after a bit it smokes but runs perfect
could it be headgasket ???
if not as anyone on ere had the same problems
oh its a 3.5 efi 1988

Valve stem seals?

Used to get it on some Ford engiones. After a few days of misuse oil would pool in the top of the piston. Once the engine was up and running it'd go away, start it the following morning, maybe a tiny puff. Leave it a week and fogscreen for a few seconds.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
