whats the most i can lift my disco before i need to start changing other parts any advice wellcome thank Q

A 2" lift should mean you'll get some dcent ground clearnace by fitting largers tyres (say 32" or 265/75x16 Muds). However, all LR's are 'slightly different' ... I've know people lift motors and they still handle fine, others have been lifted jsut two inches and they are all over the road.


If you are going to lift, (in my opinion) its best to fit castor corrected radius arms along with cranked rear arms, extended brakes hoses, cones and possibly new poly bushes too.

I lifted mine 2" all I changed were springs dampers and brake lines and it's been fine :D steering still centres and handles brill..

I will do mre as fund permit but it is somthing you can do bit by bit.
so many hills , so little time ....

When people ask me I always say you need to be prepared to spend £800 on doing the job right.  Some people find they don't, great for them, but some people do and for them the springs and shocks are only hlaf the cost.

A compramise might be to fit a 1" llift, or even just new or H/D springs which put the car back where it should be.  A 1" lift will not effect anything badly enough to worry.

BTW, fit up to 2" longer dampers on a standard car, but then you need to think about brake lines anyway.

:lol: My Rangie has a 2 inch lift and there are no bothers at all and I run 235/85 x 16 tyres which are a good compromise in my opinion.
