Pardon me for being thick but....Wasn't the idea for a dump valve meant to be used in turbocharged petrol engines where the excessive boost from the turbo upstream of a throttle butterfly would cause them to bend? So a dumpvalve was used to remove the extra pressure from the system so to prevent damage?!AFAIk a Diesel works on an WOT (wide open throttle) so there is no throttle butterfly just the pump which controls the amount of fuel entering the engine. So therefore the need for a dump valve is entirely superfluous. :?
