Air Compressor Advice

My old 12v plug in compressor is starting to struggle now. It can't seem to pump air into my tyres above 30psi so I am looking to replace it.

Any Ideas?

As the Disco needs 46psi with full load, something with a bit of ummph is needed. Are there any decent 12v options or am I better just getting one with say a 25L tank and tyre inflator that I can use from the garage. I also have a motorbike, my better half's car, and a caravan so something that can keep going without needing 30 mins rest after each tyre so to speak.

Some 12v compressors are better than others, to be honest though my experiance of a T-max didn't impress me. much better IMHO would be to get a 12v compressor and a small reservior and start it running a while before you need to refinflate the tyres.

Engine driven compressors are an option, though not particuarly cheap or simple. Has the advantage of a good system being able to run air tools and the like.

Bottles of pub gas (liquid CO2) are another option being able to reinflate a lot of tyres for just one fill.

Good call Xtremeteam. Had a chat with Rangerover Blue at the last meet and decided the 12v option would be more 'portable', so bought this from Paddocks.

T-Max all the way. I have one, and when i changed the tyres on the 110, they blew them up from empty to 33 psi in under 3 mins each.

They were 33 12.5 x 16's too.

Just used my Tmax Double ended jobber for the first time. I'm pretty impressed with it as well.

i'm impressed with mine too - only problem i can find is the pressure guage is'nt too accurate , but apart from that i think it's great :lol:

if your like me ( gota nackerd aircon system comvert the pump from that by running steel piping to the back of the engin bay or someware as this is needed to cool the air as when under preasure it gets hot enough to melt rubber pipes then run your line off of that i think theres a chat in moded veichels section covering it

Got a Viair compressor to pump all 6 (8 including spares) 41" tyres on the 101 up as far as 45psi.  Can't really fault it, but it wasn't cheap.  It was from Matt Savage.

Yep. got a Viair myself.... used to fill horn tank to 150psi (theyre damn loud).
