put a full size intercooler in mine- not sure if it increases the top end by too much but makes the engine a lot more torquey so pulls from the bottom end of the rev range a lot better and makes it a lot more drivable. definately money well spent imho :D  :D  :D
Theres no such thing as the wrong sort of mud!

Biggest difference comes from tweaking the pump

I don't think it will fit a Disco with Air Con as I know the Allisport one is very different for Air Con and non Air Con....

Personnally I'd check everything is set correctly on your engine first:

Boost pressure, FIP/Engine timing, lift pump, valve clearence, no EGR etc etc.... and then tweak the pump properly... if you still want more then buy a bigger intercooler.

Thanks for that Ian,

The only thing is, I don't really want to touch them stuff, I mean has anyone got a guild or something ?  (just don't want to blow it up!   )

Boost pressure is easy.... you just need an accurate turbo boost gauge

Lift pump... check its working as it should by unscrewing the fuel filter (engine off) - the fuel filter should be full to the brim and overflow as you unscrew it.  If the fuel level is below the top of the filter, it means the lift pump is getting weak.

Valve clearances - should be 0.20mm - just need a set of feeler gauges, a 13mm ring spanner, a flat blade screw driver, and a socket/breaker bar to turn the engine over.  It's also easier to remove the viscous fan for extra room.

Then just follow the rule of 9.

So when rocker number 8 is fully down (valve open) number 1 should be closed and the clearance between the rocker arm and the valve should be 0.20mm - adjust the rocker arm to make it correct.
See pic (pinched from a VW guide) and here: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=8023 or http://forums.lr4x4.com/lofiversion/index.php/t8023.html

Follow this for all the other inlet/exhaust valves - 2 and 7, 3 and 6 etc etc.

FIP/Engine timing:
It's very easy to ensure the FIP (Fuel Injector Pump) timing is correct - slightly more difficult to check the Cam timing, so will leave that for a minute.

Get under the car with a torch, and get someone to turn the engine using a socket and a breaker on the front damper... (Make sure ignition is off, and the LR is out of gear)
Lying underneath, shine the torch through the front wading plug hole (on the bottom of the bellhousing) and watch as the flywheel goes round.... keep watching until you see a slot in the flywheel - stop when this is central to the wading plug hole.

Then, go back to the inspection hole on the front cover.... if the timing is correct you should be able insert a 9mm (I think - I've got the proper tool) drill bit through the hole in the injector pump pulley - should be at 11 o'clock. See pic: http://www.difflock.com/servicing/30...lley-Locke.jpg

You might have the engine 360 degrees out, so may need to go around again...

If the injector pump timing is correct, the drill bit will slip straight in, and the slot in the flywheel will still be central to the wading plug hole.

If it's just a fraction out, slacken the three 10mm head bolts, and tweak the large centre nut (main spindle from injector pump) until the holes line up and thus you can insert the drill bit. Just depends how far the timing is out.

If you need more adjustment than available on the injector pump, you will need to strip the front end down and redo all the timing.
