90 Crabbing
« on: September 29, 2007, 16:15:48 »
Hiya

My 90's weel base is an inch short on the drivers side..

the passenger is 93 inch, but the drivers is 92.

It stears straight when you let go of the wheel, and the tyre wear is even.

The radius arms look straight, and i can see nothing that is majourly bent.

Any ideas?

It's usually bent rear radius arms, but sounds like you've looked at that.

Are the bushes all in good condition?

Of course, it could be good old Land Rover tolerances     Although I've been out and measured mine and it's bang on 92.75" both sides.

Are you sure you had the front wheels pointing perfectly straight ahead?

Get a piece of string and tie it to one side front then take it round all four wheels and back to the front you should have a small gap to the outside rear side wall of front wheels showing slight tow out, and the rear should be touching front and rear side walls.

Not good.

The string only touches one part of the wheel..

Is there tracking adjustment on the back?

Ill get it to a tracking specialist i know on Monday.

Yes there is, use shims under the head of the trailing link to chassis bush on the side that's short (ie a washer).
