Hah,

we did stelvio in august this year and it was a nightmare - due to the fact that we were in a fiat punto, with 2 adults, 2 kids and camping gear - we were almost overtaken up hill by pushbikers

so i suspect it really depends what car you are in as to how good the road is

Sonar - DII V8 now become a toy
Pugsley (peugeot 407) now sitting dead in a garage workshop, being replaced by Yeti the kia carens!
Bagheera - geoff's new(ish) car - a black jaguar!
love is....a husband who is prepared to put petrol in his wife's V8 without flinching - now has admitted to flinching occasionally

well i'm thinking of taking a caravan with my 4.6 rrc but might have to dump the caravan at a campsite before having a bash at the stelvio!

I want to ride up it on the bike. A friend has!!

It's used every few years in the Giro d'Italia, their national tour

Ranked as a premium race, along with Tour de France & the Vuelta (Spain)

Stelvio has long since been used in motorsport too. The old Alpine Rally and the Monte (I think) used it. And more recently Phillip Young has used it regularly for historic rallies. Nothing quite like an original 911RS or Lotus Cortina on full chat on the Stelvio hairpins  :D
