Hi all,
A question for the garage people... what exactly is included in servicing a Land Rover, for example our Disco...

I know the basics, air filter, fuel and oil filter change, what now?

Thanks in advance,

Hope that helps.

Smack bang above the steering damper at the back of the sump  8)    You'll have to wipe off the oil when you change it

Um Steven ... I might suggest you get someone else to help you the first time, or buy a book on practical mechanics. Changing oil is not just letting the old stuff run out ....

There's the preparation of the old oil, removing the filter, filling the filter, replacing the filter, putting back sump plug when all drained etc etc.

The Haynes Book of Lies (HBOL) does explain the technique.

You might also want to add some engine flush etc..

Also a good idea to get the engine hot so that more of the old oil runs out faster

As Nelly says, get yourself a manual and have a good read while checking all the parts BEFORE you attempt.  Its a simple enough job when you have done a few but mistakes can be painful to you and expensive on your pocket
