Stuck in a traffic jam yesterday...In a services!
« on: October 03, 2007, 10:34:57 »
Well I've been stuck in quite a few over the past 30 years of driving, but this was a first for me, had to go out to Tamworth services yesterday, to recover a trailer with a siezed wheel bearing.

Easy one, but the car trailer was in bits, I had started spraying it.

So, put it back together, hook up and off I went, 1 hour later pulled into the services all looked ok, started going round the car park, traffic stopped, and there I sat for an hour! :x

The car was on the other side of the car park, so I couldn't even leave the vehicle as I was block a load of cars in their bays, finally after nearly 2 hours got the motor (and trailer) out of the way (see bad parking thread), went across with a bag of tools to see what I can do, managed to release the bearing enough to roll the trailer, then had to crawl round the car park to get near enough to load the trailer on the back

By then all clear, total time in services nearly 3 hours, normally it would have took 20 minutes to free the wheel and load up

Best thing was a security person went round and ticketed a mondeo for straddling 3 lanes, I said to her dont go up the back of the car park there an even bigger one there, she said it was ok, as it was at the back of the services, this car was right near the front

Still got to spray the trailer, its at the moment, black/rust and tan primer, and its forcast rain today again, sods law

If this is what happens when I think "must get out more" :?

Srs 3 Lightweight petrol, runabout

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40
