Who broke what at Abingdon !

I managed to bend a rear trailing arm, smack off a wheel arch and put a nice scratch down the side as i ran over a smallish tree on the extream bit !!

I also saw other people carrying out repairs, so come on what did you damage

and i went round in a goldish coloured standerd disco that had to be pulled out back wards from the mud run ripping front platic stuff off

it was a brilliant off road track though and the mud was good,

Bent my steering arm twice  :oops: ,

Managed to get it straight with the aid of a hand winch & trolley jack then clamped a halfshaft to it to get me & 26 foot of caravan home, got home ok but now clutch has gone, took the slave cylinder of tonight & its all gooey & rusty inside  :roll:  so more money to spend this week

I recognise that flag. I followed you at one point!

Anyway. I got another flat tyre. A tyre that had mud cleaned from rim 21 hours before hand got more mud in it. a tyre change half way round the course saw me right for the rest of the day. £ AT's and a road tyre isn't a good combination to have!!!

the event marshalls wouldnt let me fly the huge pirate flag around the offroad course,
it was a brilliant course but is beggining to sound like abit of a killer course

Well, touch wood, I didn't break anything. I was trying.

If you want damage you need to visit Bramcote Mains or Tixover's clay pit. Bearings take a beating at both.

We ended up do the complete course easy and extreme with just low box and no diffs locked. You needed to drive the 200tdi like you would a V8 or to quote someone else "drive it like you stole it"

White gold, or whatever it's called, cream seats, 50th anniversary disco... That will have been Emma from Thames Valley 4x4 Club.  I saw the damage and didn't realise she did the hard route in it until later.

Didn't break anything apart from my wipers on the A34 getting there!

Last year I ripped the exhaust off, this year I thought I'd gotten away without problems but it began overheating on the way home.  A radiator caked in mud was the cause of that!  I also noticed one of the rear light guards had gone AWOL and I'd bent my bumper a bit!

Then again only went round the course once as popped in on my way home after a night shift in Oxford. Did all the extreme/hard bits though, was a good course. Now all i need to do is wash the thing  :lol:

yh from TV 4x4 (4x4 bun) emma, we was on landy rally, i was rreally impressed with how her disco coped with road tyres and auto box,

i will be going again next year

Darren dont worry we probably held more people up when my female housemate decided she wanted to drive for the first time.

Must say I had a great day and everyone including the mashalls were really friendly.Although not happy with the one who persuaded connie to drive :?  :lol:

2 laps in the new 110 cost me front numberplate and a bent sidestep. Brilliant course I thought, saw Daz in the G4, will be back next year.

Went in my own fine £500 Ebay sourced chariot this year.

I Need a few sumpguard bolts after a couple of laps.

The mud run ate my Alternator and the front number plate fell off, probably in the mud run.

Other than that I'm very impressed with the capability of a standard but saggy springed Fourtrack on a set of 31 inch mud tyres.
It went everywhere I pointed it, sometimes needed a couple of goes but that was usually to me hesitating or lifting off at the wrong point.

POPPED A SPRING AT THE REAR.....but previously did it at PETEBO8...the downforse managed to bend the bottom spring holder.........BIG THANKS to JD, the marshall who righted her for me..

V8 auto box, standard road tyres and never broke a thing, got round the course pretty well and also didn't use diff lock.  It was a massively different course as it evolved over the weekend though, and I went round first thing Saturday before sitting and getting sunburnt being a marshal :oops:

This year i left a front indicator and headlight surround on on the course somewhere ...

I managed to pop a tyre, get mud in the alternator, I then had starting problems because i was missing an earth strap from the gearbox to the chassis and today siezed two wheel bearings. So all in all a very good weekend !

Thank you to all the marshalls and co-ordinators etc for making it a fantastic outing.

it was a good track, i didnt manage to break anything at all, i learnt fromlast year to fit the broken alternator before doing the mud run rather than buying a new one after  :lol:
rad was full of mud but its not needed at 55mph so all was good

Didn't break anything on the course  [-o< BUT on the way home overheated, nursed it back, got on the drive, electric fan cut in and bodged a hole in the rad 
Top weekend though, met Skibum and Zuludelta5. Will be back next year  :D

I know the feeling... came time to leave and the jetwash man was really busy, so decided on Tescos.... they closed their jetwash in protest and I couldn't find another!   :doh:

SWMBO towed me up the A44 halfway to Banbury till we found one... after that it was absolutely fine.   :D

Mind you... gave her Green LSE a good exercise... and I saved some petrol!   :lol: :lol:

I was camped on the right just after the entrance... green army tent with a Lion Rampant flying... and I managed to chat briefly with some of you while I was marshalling.

I was hugely impressed with both the organisation of the event, the course which was brilliant for expert & novice alike, and the atmosphere... it felt really relaxed and friendly and everyone was approachable. I often think that shows like Billing & Peterborough etc are very clinical and trade oriented. Abingdon certainly wasn't!

So if you've not been yet... get there next year!

two slowly leaking rear tires with mud between rim and rubber... and a 4 inch gash in the rad 

and a camp bad bed that decided to rip from one end to the other at 4am...

apart from that, no breakages  :D

As for the camping bit, I didnt realise you were camping. I followed you around the course on Saturday at one point but didnt know what you looked like in person to chat to you. I may have done whilst you were marshalling on sunday and not known it?
