My old man has lost the plot!

He needed a pickup for the farm. No question the most suitable solution. So what did the daft owd giff turn up in proclaiming it the best thing ever?

Oh i know, i have had a fair few in my time including 2 pickup's. What looses me is how an estate car is going to fit a big round bale in the back come winter or how it will cope in tractor ruts with a tonne of meal bags in the back? It is just not the vehicle for the job at hand.

Seem a few forresters spectacularly killed in Canada on gravel roads. They'll take a fair bit of punishment but the first large stone that gets kicked up they'll get expensive.

Alledgedly its easy to whip/bow the chassis on the forrester.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

Subaru Forresters, the car of choice for the average traveller hare courser.
I once had a game of chicken with one full of the lovely sellers of lucky rabbits feet, along a dyke top near Downham Market.
I was in a Plod 90. He chickened out first and nearly rolled the Subaru.
He and his clan got most upset and shouted "Why are you treatin' us loike feckin' criminals?"
I replied, "Er, because you are!"
They got nicked, went to court, and the Subaru was crushed by order of the Court. Sweet!
Good guys 1, bad guys 0!
Moral of the tale,  don't play chicken with a jarred off cop armed with a big stick and CS, in a 90 with a large bumber on the front!

He he he, must have been the same bunch we got last year in a green one, except they ditched the car and dogs and tried to leg it, very funny, my mate walked up to the car opened the bonnet and disabled it with one hand full of HT leads.

We then parked up and waited until they came back which eas about 17 mins. Then nicked them with the help of our fiendly traffic officer!

I will say the forester will take a punishing before it dies.
If want to walk it walk it, if you want to ride it ride it just leave me alone to drive it!

wish you would come and police here as the old bill dont give a damn about hare coursers and tresspassers here, even had the front to come and ask me why i had a shotgun in my hand when harecoursers ran through when i was about to go out for a shoot.

We used to work on the theory that it was not acceptable due to the wildlife/cruelty issues and also the high amounts of damage and high levels of threats and intimidation. We also had very strong support from the local landowners, who also happened to be the local magistrates!
