I've been thinking. And possibly watching too much Discovery channel.

I've been looking at getting a Rover P6 for a while. 3500TC of course ;)

Now, They drive beutifully but thaye are old and the interior is awful so I thought, why not get a complete shed, modernise it and refurbish it totally. Not one of these bolt by bolt rebuilds but totally facelift it.

What I'm curious about is how different is the P6's V8 to the LR V8, eg would one of the 3.9s or 4.2s fit. Aparently a TVR Chimera engine will but I dont really have the cash :)

I'm thinking 4.2 V8. Audi 6 speed tip box. RX8 rear LSD OR rip the Quattro running gear out of a larger Audi.

Chrome bumers off and some nice coded and more aerodynamic ones on while keeping the lines of the car. Maybe reduce the front fins and again on the back. Then rip a dash from something nice but same sort of class, maybe a newer Jag.

Any thoughts?

Yes I know I'm insane :)
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

I had a 3500tc lovely car but by heck was it thirsty   there is a company somewhere that already does this with classics, they take the original and update all the suspension ,running gear ,engine etc to make it drive like a modern car
