Ever Lent Your Landy to a Non Landy Owner?

  Found this amusing today, my husband let his foreman borrow the 110 double cab today, he thought my hubby knew loads of people around Northants, every other green oval was waving at him!  He was impressed until the unique phenomena called the "Landy wave" was explained to him!

I had the luck to drive a totally black Range Rover Supercharged the other day. It was quite amusing to watch the local 'Innits' gather round thinking that it was some local Chav celebrity or Beckham wannabe in it, and they were slightly shocked to see a rotund, greying, hacked off, white guy driving it.
I even got a comment, while sat at some lights, from the passenger of a spolier bedecked Saxo say "Wicked car, nah wot I min?", to which I happened to reply with "First off, I think you are saying you like the car, which is good, whereas your car is a pile of crap, and I don't like it ". The supercharger was then used.

It was a rather nice feeling, but I'm very glad I wasn't picking up the fuel bill! Its the whine from the supercharger that really does it though. It really comes on full chat when you get past 70mph, alledgedly, so I've been told
Saying that, the new Freelander 2's don't hang around either.

Not exactly Landy related, but someone let me have a go in his softtop, V12 E-type Jag, round the Nurburgring a few years ago   That is probably the closest I will ever come to flying a Supermarine Spitfire, because it did sound very similar.

I've been getting the blank faced look again recently when I wave at people.  Guess I need to get a tow rope wrapped round the bumper again
