i called devon 4x4 today to ask them to get me some bits for my 8274.
me: "hi there, could i speak with jake at parts please"
her: who is it?
me: "robert stevenson"
her: hold on
someone else answers the phone
her (forgot her name): hello devon 4x4 parts
me: hi is jake there
her: who is it
me: its tdi90
her: thats your name is it
me: no but he will know me as that
her: so he doesnt know you personally
me: no
her: well i cant do that sorry, im sure i can help though
at this point i gave up trying to get hold of you jake! lol
me: ok then, i need some b its for my 8274
her: ok
me: i need the lever thingy that goes on the outside of the spinny bit
her: the free spool lever
me: yes please
her: well i do know what im tlking about i have been here 20 years
me: i know that, but i dont really know what im tlking about so im trying to make it basic for myself lol
her: ok then have you looked at our website
me: no
her: ok well do that first...

anyway she tlked me through it, but i did not know it would be that hard to get hold of you!!! lol

You firstly spoke to Kate (my lovely wife) and then to Liz
Sorry i couldn't take your call, as i dont work in the sales department
I did however pick your items from our stock, pack them and got them ready for the courier.
You should have them in the morning  :wink:
Liz is a fiesty thing but i personally find her a joy to work with.
I enjoy the way she winds up some of the customers (in the nicest of ways) and seems to always have a lot of fun on the phone
Liz is Simon Buck's wife. They are the propietor's of Devon 4x4 and Simon is one of the best of road drivers in the world (proved again in Morocco)

I've known Simon & Liz for about 10 years now & my brother is their local policeman...very handy  :D  They are both really nice people & don't mix there words :lol:

ive worked briefly with jake :wink:

BTW the XGts i got at eastnor have been "borrowed" by my dad for the wknd as he thought they were "quite bright"  :lol:  :lol:

We did speak briefly...you were v.busy & I was out in the workshop with Simon & Cookie...Simon was polishing his toys  :roll:  :lol:
