Disco prop versus AA recovery
« on: October 27, 2007, 12:13:35 »
And the disco won! Or would have done without me telling the idiot how to get the .... thing onto his wagon.

Lost the front prop on the M11 last night.  3 hours later a recovery wagon appeared, the driver of which had no idea of how to cope with the fact that the front half of the prop kept swinging round and jamming on the chassis, locking the front wheels.

Eventually we got it aboard and he took me to Cambridge Services, where the idea was to get it back off, and transfer me to another wagon to take me to Grantham (second truck was an hour away).

I don't think so!

Unbolted the prop whilst on the bed, used Difflock and drove off bed and drove home.

Which is what I would have done in the first place, of course, if it'd gone somewhere other than an unlit section of motorway.

Ruddy useless they are.

Now, has anyone in the Grantham area got a front prop knocking about?
