td4 freelander advice needed
« on: November 14, 2007, 16:16:55 »
hi all. as most of you know we have a td4 freelander on a 55 plate. i had the shock of my life this morning , i moved the car around to the back of the house...was running for about 3 mins from cold.......so i turn the engine off and go in doors. when i left the car i could hear a fan going but didnt think anymore of it.....

when i came back i found smoke coming from just infront of the near side front wheel.

as you might imagine i had a bit of a panic on...when i looked i found that the smoke was diesel fumes....and it was coming out of a small exhuast type pipe at the front of the car.. :?  :?:

ts just infront of the front near side wheel. any one got any idea's what it could be????
cheers

It's fine! All the TD4's do that. Can't remember what it is, but it's normal

BE HAPPY!

Thats the exhaust from the Fuel burning heater (part of the winter pack).

Because desiels run quite cold they don't generate enough heat soon enough to warm the cab, landrover know that Arctic explorers in freelanders will get chilly toes so the FBH burns desiel to generate heat to keep you warm.

It is especiallly amusing at petrol stations on frosty mornings (see how they run)!!!!!
