If you find out. let me know . I have the same problem but looking at my seats unless i want to do major engineering works or rip out the ES motorised and heated seats and change them for cheaper lower and less comfortable version i have learnt to live with it.
I had comfort problems when i had a series 111 and a defender. The P38RR was alright.

Hi again David.

I'm 6'5" and always thought the combination of Disco seat and high windscreen line gave good visibility.

Am I understanding the question correctly?

3 door seat bases are 1 inch higher than the 5 door base.

I'm 6 ft 4 and I'm thinking of highering mine by a inch.

As it is I can see clearly and still have my hat on

Don't know about the Disco but in RRC the seats go onto a steel box.  Manual ones seem to have an ali spacer that the electric ones don't have, unless you fit it yourself.  The soft dash seats mount diofferently and are all fitted without the spacer.

yes, I think so. I'm too high up and seem to be looking down onto the bonnet more than I expected.

Ofcourse, the cd changer is under the seat so I think this idea is flawed.

I'll just have to crouch down if i want to see further than 100 yrds or so up the road.

Is it a series 1 or 2 discovery?
As I am 6'5"and 19 stone and in my discovery 2, I sat to close to the steering wheel . I needed 2 inches more leg room and with a little cutting and removal of the rivets, I now have more than enough leg room and also I have raised the front of the seat by 10mm and this has made it even better . as for lowering the seat yes  it can be lowered at the back only, so if you lowered the  back and raised the front and moved the seat back by 2 inches then you will end up with a very comforable car. If you want to know more about the mod just ask me .  If I put the seat right back on the stops I cant reach the steering wheel.

It's a late series 1 98 ES.

I know, I need a new avatar.
