Wassup wid it?
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

Well dont tell anyone bit i think i cooked it.
I wired in a multi socket outlet, got the + and neg the wrong way around.
Plugged in the CB and smoked the arial connection.
It still switches on and scans for channels but doesnt find any.
I dunno if its the CB or the arial that i cooked.

Ah

It'll be the CB, probobly the PLL (chip that handles tuning) is toast :(
I'll pm you my address and you can send it over. I may be able to rescue it but it could be terminal. If you could PM me make and model so I can order the circuit diagrams too.

Weeeeel

Power cable is toast.
One of the filters fell out of the case
There is NO earth connection to the righ so its earthing through the aerial, this is probobly the problem. I'll need to get it home and strip[ the back end of it to bits and try it on an aerial but looks fixable.

Most spectacularly vapourised diode I've seen for a bit :)
