Anyone in Leeds know whats the weather is like there?

Well I'm in Bradford which is next door to Leeds (Like you diodn't already know that  )
To be honest it is raining and it is freezing cold. :x
It has been 'trying' to snow but nothing to worry about yet.
Gonna be fun this year seen as I have moved into a new house with a steep exit from the cul-de-sac (so no gritters) and I have a rear wheel drive
Gonna have to get that 4x4 soon 8)

Dunno why though...what do we normally get? 3 hours of rush hour traffic because everybody panics/can't drive in snow and then it is gone by lunch time :x

Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and then beat you on experience.

Road is white over and things are struggling on the hill we live on. Must go check see if school is closed :-)

Still coming down here, but it's only just about sticking to the fence posts. The ground is still too wet for it to linger :( Having said that it's not so much "falling" as flying sideways, so I doubt if much of it is actually coming into contact with the ground.

Travelled back from Cardiff today in the Multipla. Apart from LOTS of rain, everything was ok until we decided to go over Clee Hill to drop something off at Burwarton (apologies to those who aren't from the area).

Started up the hill and sleet turns to snow. By the time we get near the top we have had to stop for a Rover that has skidded across the road; and have carefully followed a Freelander (horsebox in tow), that was really struggling by the time we both got to the top. Back down the other side was driven 'gingerly' to say the least.

Back to sleet and rain for a while, then my 'navigator'   decides the road between Ludlow and Bridgnorth would be ok. So, up we go until we start slipping about on the road and I decide to turn back and take the well trodden route through Church Stretton and Shrewsbury.

Apparently it's 8" in Burwarton at the moment, and the tree in the back garden of my sister in law has broken from the weight of the snow.

Looks like the kids will be up on the hill sledging on an upturned car bonnet again!

The Radio 2 news at 19:00 said that the Snake Pass (A57 Manchester -Sheffield) was "Passable With Caution", due to snow

I've just checked the BBC weather, there's snow on the outskirts of Holmfirth now too (Hoo-rah!!, it's getting closer)

I went to a pub quiz last night. Usually it takes about 45mins to get to the pub, and as the snow appeared to have melted here I borrowed Dad's Saab (bit cheaper to run than my Disco, especially with diesel at £1.10 here).

Mistake!

It snowed hard all evening, and when we left the pub at 23:30 ish there was an impromptu snowball fight. I wasn't able to go over 40mph without sliding and had to turn the traction control off at one point as it wasn't coping (kept cutting the power off at the wrong moment). Got home at about 00:45. Next time, I take the Disco!
