In the learner car I get people insisting on overtaking no matter what and pulling out just to get in front...

That's why I stopped using a roof box (for my L plates).

Me too, it's usually only the ones directly behind who now do that...

Also saved me 10% on fuel and no roof scratches.

Have you had anyone call because they have seen your roof sign, I never had.
Cheers

No, though I once got a pupil because his neighbour was going out with a colleague and saw the car on their drive.

Usually it's word of mouth isn't it.

Word of mouth definately works best.

Had a Yellow Pages ad, got about 20 calls, 5 were in my area and useful leads.  Blokey tried to persuade me that I'd had over 4000 calls and even though he eventually admitted 5 wasn't that goo, did try to tell me my return on investment was pretty good...

Needless to say YP not being renewed...

Ho hum
C ya

i spend a lot of time driving in Scandinavia where dipped beams are mandatory all the time, rain or shine, and i stared my motoring career on bikes, so i just get in and turn my headlights on as a matter of course

had a mates numpty girlfriend try to tell me i was damaging the planet by having my head lights on as the engine has to work harder !!! - she got most excited when i said i didn't give a monkeys as it made my car safe and see able and that she had 0 no claims and I'm into double figures !!! - she then  said she'd agree to disagree ! - so i said you mean i win and commonsense prevails ? - she didn't speak to me for a month !!

as for front fog lights - i like to use them on my way home in the dark up the network of single track country lanes i live up to fill in the gap at the end of my bonnet when I'm driving ordinary cars so i can see the pot holes before i disappear down one !!  - one thing i don't get is the trend for having side lights on and just front fogs in the middle of the night - just adds to the evidence that people just want to look at the end of there bonnets!
