Rear wheel bearings(how tight)drum brakes

i have just fitted new bearings and seals on my rear drum brakes ,does anyone no how tight they have to be?

Supposed to set them up with the correct amount of end float using a DTI.

Or as everyone else does, pack the bearings well with lithium grease, nip up the inner nut and spin wheel to seat the bearings, back off a flat or two until you can feel an extremely small amount of freeplay, then tighten up the lock nut with tabbed lock washer.

the workshop manual for older models says to gently tighten up the nut whilst spinning the wheel until it starts to drag , then slacken off a quarter turn.
i usually re do mine after 100 miles or if more usually the next week end.
if it isent broke , whack it with a hammer ,

Rear wheel bearing replacement on a 300TDi Defender. Not so different with drum brakes with regard to fitting and adjusting the bearings.
